Ohio couple dead after alleged domestic violence encounter

On Behalf of | Dec 29, 2013 | Domestic Violence |

Families are composed of people that come from a variety of backgrounds. Some family members possess different beliefs than others, but often their differences can be resolved. There are, however, instances when people disagree and an argument can turn into a domestic violence scene.

Cleveland emergency medical services recently responded to a call and when they arrived on the scene, they discovered a woman lying in the street. The medical team noted that she had multiple gunshot wounds and that a kitchen knife was on the ground next to her. The medical team transported the unconscious woman to a local hospital where she later died.

Law enforcement officers who were also on at the scene discovered a gun on the front porch of a house where the woman may have fled. The house door was open, revealing a man lying on the floor inside. Right after he was discovered, he was pronounced dead. Authorities said that he had been stabbed multiple times in the chest. Although it appears that the man died from stab wounds and the woman from gunshot wounds, the Medical Examiner’s Office will perform autopsies on both bodies. The couple had apparently been together for nine years.

Domestic violence has many faces and many victims. Although human culture continues to evolve and in some instances improve, there are still violent abuse incidences that occur throughout the country. When a person experiences physical abuse, or allegations of abuse, it may be helpful for him or her to speak with an experienced attorney.
