Signs a divorce may be right for you

On Behalf of | Apr 1, 2022 | Divorce |

Nobody gets married with the intention of getting a divorce, but it may be right for some couples. Even though 50% of marriages in the United States end in divorce, many more couples turn a blind eye to the signs they divorce may be the best option for themselves. Here are a few signs that your marriage may not be working out:

Constant conflict

It is one thing for a couple to bicker or fight occasionally, but if the conflicts seem to be a constant stream of battles, it can be a sign of a serious issue in the relationship. Do not make the mistake of creating excuses for countless “bad days” that you and your spouses are having.

Avoidance

While the sounds of arguments can be a warning sign of divorce, the sound of silence can be deafening. When a couple spends most of their time in separate ends of a house, finds excuses to stay out of the house alone, or even takes extra hours at work just to stay out of the house, it may be because a spouse does not want to be around their partner.

A change in affection

It may be an obvious sign of an ending marriage for a couple to drastically reduce their physical and emotional intimacy, but the opposite can also be true. If a spouse suddenly has an increase in interest in your physical intimacy, they may be looking to try things they learned with another partner or looking to cover their own guilt.

Do not ignore the signs

If your friends and family are expressing concern about your relationship with your spouse, they may be able to see something you cannot. There are many different signs that a marriage is heading for divorce; it is your responsibility to decide what you want to do when you finally recognize them.
